Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Gadget Tier List

Compare recommended gadgets using an editorial S-to-C tier list based on their documented effects and build flexibility. The rankings are recommendations rather than official SEGA tiers, and they account for the Machine Kit and Tuner changes introduced in version 1.4.1.

  • S

Matching Machine Kit gadgets grant a +20 stat bonus without their former -16 penalty following version 1.4.1. Ultimate Drift Charge adds a fourth drift-charge level that provides an invincible boost when fully charged.

  • A

Tuner Gadgets provide a +20 bonus when matched with their machine type and +8 when unmatched, although existing stat penalties remain. Item Stock Plus expands item capacity to three.

  • B

Ring Limit UP increases the Ring cap to 200, while Ring Range UP multiplies Ring pickup range by 2.5. Both support Ring-focused loadouts.

  • C

Giant Rocket Punch enlarges the Rocket Punch item. Its effect is specialized around a particular attack rather than providing a general machine-stat upgrade.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Beginner Guide

Learn the essential mechanics behind drifting, Travel Rings, Air Tricks, and Ring collection. Follow these beginner-friendly steps to understand how racing changes across land, water, air, and different dimensions.

  1. Pick a machine type

Choose a racer and machine from the five available types: Speed, Acceleration, Handling, Power, and Boost. Acceleration types recover speed quickly, while Handling types are suited to tighter turns.

  2. Charge the Drift Gauge

Hold the drift control while turning to charge the Drift Gauge, then release it to receive a speed boost. Longer charges produce stronger drift boosts.

  3. Choose a Travel Ring

At the end of lap one, the leading racer selects between two Travel Rings. Lap two takes place in the selected CrossWorld, and the final lap returns to the original course with changed obstacles, items, Rings, and shortcuts.

  4. Practice tricks and Time Trials

Perform Air Tricks during jumps to earn landing boosts and collect Rings to improve maximum speed. Practice individual courses in Time Trial before competing against other players.
